Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Adaptation Kit Update (AKU2.6)
Microsoft pro nás v nejbližší době chystá jakýsi service pack pro systém Windows Mobile 2003 Second edition, který bude součástí například plánovaných ROM upgradů pro iPAQ hx4700 nebo celé řady hx2000. Pokud čekáte nějaké zásadní změny, bohužel vás asi zklamu - opravují se především chyby (například náhodné nezobrazení některých today screen pluginů po softresetu), nové jsou jen některé drobnosti. Pro informaci přikládám kompletní změny ve verzi 2.6 v originále.

- Fixed a problem where a shell32 data abort occurred when the system was reset. (PPC Only)
- Device performance is no longer affected when device is connected to the PC through ActiveSync and GPRS is active. (PPC + SP)
- Users can enter the plus (+) character from an integrated hardware QWERTY keyboard. (PPC Only)
- Removing a storage card from the device sometimes causes the pager to get stuck in a loop. We fixed the problem so the memory paging problem no longer occurs. For more information, see "Removing the Storage Card During Paging Operation" in the March documentation update of Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. (PPC + SP)
- Fixed a data misalignment exception in shell32 which was causing the device to reset. (PPC Only)
Multimedia AKU2.6
- Fixed the volume control for WMP so that the amount of sound played matches the % of sound on the slider. Previously sound could still be heard when at 0%. (PPC + SP)
Pocket Internet Explorer AKU2.6
- Pocket Internet Explorer no longer performs a double GET when downloading files. (PPC + SP)
Messaging AKU2.6
- Fixed the Email2 CSP so that provisioning of the SMTPALT xxx tags works properly. Previously, partners were unable to use the EMAIL2 CSP parameter extensions to setup their email applications. (PPC + SP)
- Messaging accounts that cannot be edited no longer have the Edit option active in the Accounts Menu. Previously, the Edit option was active but it didn't do anything which led to confusion by the user. (SP Only)
- User Data Header Indicator (UDHI) takes priority over other Voice Mail Indication methods such as DCS (Digital Cellular Service) and CPHS (Common PCN Handset Specification). (PPC + SP)
Shell and User Interface AKU2.6
- Improved the visibility of the underscore (_) and comma (,) characters in the Device ID control panel. Previously the two characters were not separated making it confusing to users. (PPC Only)
- Home screen plug-ins no longer disappear when the device is reset. (PPC Only)
- Fixed a stress case where Stop EventSound was called for every key-up message. Stop EventSound is only called when necessary in order to eliminate possible deadlock situation. (PPC Only)
- Fixed an exception that was occurring in Stop EventSound. This was interfering with 3rd party ring tone applications. (PPC + SP)
- While previewing a ring tone and an incoming call occurs at the same time, both ring tones were played. Fixed this so only the incoming call sound is played. (PPC Only)
- Ring tones can be previewed while selecting a custom ring tone for a contact. Previously while setting the custom ring tone for a Contact, the user could not preview the sound. (PPC + SP)
- The SIM voicemail flag uses a generic message when indicating new voicemail messages. Previously the voice mail message would always post "1 New Voice Messages" even if there were more than 1 messages present. The message is now more generic and states "New Voice Message". (PPC Only)
- A notification indicating a new Voicemail no longer appears after a reboot of the device. The voicemail icon will still appear in the title bar but the bubble is suppressed because the user has already received the notification at an earlier time. (PPC Only)
- The voicemail speed dial option no longer allows the user to change the key assignment. Key 1 is reserved for Voicemail. (SP Only)
- Long Profile names display properly on the home screen. Previously long Profile names display was distorted. (SP Only)
- It is possible to have all call history types displayed in the Phone Dialer call history. Previously only outbound calls were displayed in the Dialer call history. The user had to open Call History to view all call history. This functionality is registry configurable. For more information about configuring the registry, see "Phone Dialer Call History (SP Only)" in the March documentation update of Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. (SP Only)
- A small amount of white space was visible on certain Setting control panels. This white space was prevalent when the window color was not white. The white space has been removed and is no longer visible. (SP Only)
- Added a vibrate icon to the title bar which will be displayed when the Profile is set to Vibrate. Previously the Speaker Off icon was used for the Vibrate profile. Note that this functionality is already supported in PPC and new for SP. (SP Only)
- If the auto answer feature is on and the user is currently in an active call when another call comes in, the second call is no longer automatically answered. The user must manually answer the second call. This change is because the second call used to be automatically answered, which did not always give the current call enough time to finish up or it switched to the new call in the middle of the conversation. (SP Only)
